New Year, New Adventure – 12-28-23

Well, a new year of travel begins. We started our travels one year ago today. We closed on the sale of our house and headed south on December 28, 2022. Our first night stop was at Ray Roberts Lake State Park just east of Sanger, TX. We drove 21,798 miles this first year.

We left Guthrie, OK yesterday, December 27th. We are staying at the same place we did last year, Ray Roberts Lake State Park. We are 4 spots away from our spot last year. We are heading back to south Texas. Should be there on January 1, 2024. We will be staying in Mission, TX at Canyon Lake RV Resort. This is west of McAllen, TX. Unless things change, we will be there through March.

As of today, we have no plans after Mission, TX. We’ll see!

Ray Roberts Lake State Park site 74. Had a little problem with one of our slide outs when we were packing up to leave. Not too big of a problem, just had to reset the controller. Probably set too long without being used.

Mall of America – 9/21

Mall of America – Bloomington, MN. Had to go there once. Wasn’t busy during the week so parking and traffic weren’t bad.
Amusement park inside, roller coaster and all.
Aquarium at Mall of America – Tori inside a display bubble. I couldn’t crawl inside!
A walk through aquarium. I’m not too fond of being surrounded by water.

I’ll let this speak for itself.
Spam(grease) powered diesel motorcycle.
Flavors not seen in Oklahoma. Tocino is only sold in the Philippines and the Spam museum store.

Water leak!

We had a water leak at our bathroom sink. Took the RV in for warranty work and they returned it with a leak. I just happened to look in one of the storage compartments and saw water dripping from above. Traced it back the the bathroom sink. They replaced the counter top in the bathroom. Didn’t put the washer back in the connection. By the way, you cannot replace the washer. Had to buy the fitting. Never worked with PEX pipes so I had no tools. After about $100 of tool purchases, I have it fixed. They would have fixed it but, I would have to tow it back to Camping World and wait a day to get it fixed then tow it back to our RV site. Hotel for one night with a dog is $130. Good thing I caught it early, it could have caused a lot of problems. Always check things after any service!

Hope Minnesota – 8/1

We are in Hope Minnesota. Two 300+ miles a day travel to get here from Guthrie. Hope is about 20 miles north of Albert Lea and about 10 miles south of Owatonna.

So, we are here to help our daughter, Victoria, purchase a house in Albert Lea. She wanted to move north to escape the heat of Oklahoma. We found a small house that fit her needs. We have purchased the house and are in the process of getting things ready to move in. Here is a link to pictures of the house – https://www.homes.com/property/1309-w-clark-st-albert-lea-mn/61wpcp7nwxc19/

We will be here until the middle of September then be heading south for the winter.

We’re Back

Well, we have been in Guthrie, Oklahoma for a coupe of months. We had several doctor’s appointments, visiting with family and a fourth of July family reunion. It was good to see everyone. It was also very good to attend our home church, the Edmond Church of Christ. On line and local churches are good but, there’s nothing like worshiping with friends and family!

We are back on the road so there will be pictures again on a regular basis.
