George H. W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum – 4/9

George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, Texas.

Lots of stuff about Texas A&M on display. This is the first Heisman Trophy I have seen in person. Cool!
Presidential Limo.
A TBM Avenger. This is the type of aircraft President Bush flew in WWII.
The Naval aviator sidearm, a 38 caliber Smith & Wesson Special CG, was used by George H.W. Bush in WWII.
Aside from bullets, it could fire a special pyrotechnic signal round.

Brazos Valley Museum of Natural Hostory – 4/6

Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History
I don’t know which one scares me more!
I guess these are/were native to this area?
I’m not sure how I feel about this exhibit!
General Antonio López de Santa Anna. Santa Anna’s valuable personal effects were taken as spoils of war, including
his silver. The two pieces of his silverware displayed here, a massive dessert fork and spoon, were sent to Joanna
Troutman, maker and designer of the Troutman Goliad flag, an important flag in the Texas independence movement.
My favorite exhibit! I would love to have any of these. But my absolute favorite is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10.

Choke Canyon State Park, Texas – 4/1/24

Here’s our spot at Choke Canyon State Park. We arrived March 31st. We’ll be here for 5 nights. It’s very quiet and peaceful. Lots of space!

Cinder soaking up the sun.
A country church on our drive to Choke Canyon State Park.
View looking behind our trailer. My trusted Starlink set up and working perfectly!
Another view looking west of our trailer. There is a wild pig in this picture, but it’s hard to see.
Just thought it was a cool tree.
They have a nice pavilion overlooking the lake.
Well that’ll get your attention!
